Unity question pertaining to spine2D, unity or in general the concept of rigged animation.

Hello people I am a noob pertaining on topics of 2D rigged animation. I have several perplexities that do involve porn specific questions and perhaps you can help me with the questions or give me advice.

I did recently create a simple test, just to see how this process of rigged animation in 2D would work, and for my testing platform I utilized blender. So I created a simple drawing with the grease pencil tool, which allowed me to experiment.

Blender produces a sequence of images, which I assume I could use to play the porn animation, but I noticed spine2D instead utilizes an atlas and with the appropriate plugin you are able to use a simple packed image with all the animations performed as transformations of the cropped parts of it. Spine obviously has other advantages, but I was guessing that a pipeline involving spine would allow me to store less images in memory am I correct?

The second question is involving unity and godot, I noticed that both unity and godot have an integrated animation system, which does the same spine does, and it involves cropping the parts of the atlas and you make animations inside of the game engine, which is cool... would that not be the same of using spine? I am interested in this capability of using one atlas and then splitting the images, with crops... That would definitely save memory space.

Third question: If I am planning a pornimation game, how would I commonly deal with 2 characters that overlap ? Say for example that I have a female character for which I created a bunch of looped animations and transitions and I am doing a 2D scrolling game... And then when the female is captured by some other character i have to transition into a sex situation, but there will be 2 characters interacting...

I figured out this scenario but you correct me if I am wrong: I create a separate set of atlases, that fix woman + male into a sex pose, and I animate them. Or, option 2 is that I utilize the female asset and with code I set the "Z-order", which would involve somehow the usage of separated genitals such that I would be able to deform them correctly when the penile insertion enters the pussy...

I am not sure I am conveying my doubts, they are mostly of the type of "how do I make the sex happen".

I already downloaded some older flash games, which were all made this way, they had these packed atlases, its not a novelty method. but I did still want to hear from you if you ever made this sort of thing, what did you find that works... Tell me about it. thanks.

Question 1. A sprite sheet can hold all the components of your animation, or you can use individual image files for the components and pack them later. Sheets are supposed to be more efficient, if that's your question.

2. Yes, and no. Unity is a game engine, and spine is just made for animation. That being said you can do most of the same things in Unity. Unity can use masks, which I like. Unity you can cut the sprite sheet, automatically, or custom cropping. Spine can be exported into Unity or godot
